This is so exciting! I love that show! It makes me so motivated to clean up. One question, are you available for hire? I have anxiety and noticed that I start collecting stuff, and emotionally I can't get rid of it! It takes me hours to get rid of one box. I've been trying to find someone like the organizers on that show forever!

BUSY DAY CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP

4 boneless chicken breasts (fresh or frozen)
1-10oz can enchilada sauce
1-15oz can corn, drained or 2 cups frozen corn
1-15oz can black beans, rinsed and drained (optional)
1-15oz can crushed or diced tomatoes
1-4oz can diced green chilies
3-15oz cans low sodium chicken broth
3/4 cup onion (fresh or frozen)
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 large bunch cilantro, chopped fine and divided (reserve half for garnish)
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf

Combine all ingredients in your crock pot and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for as long as 6-8 hours. Before serving remove chicken and shred or chop then return to soup. Serve with lime wedges, reserved cilantro, diced avocado and tortilla strips. I have never made this soup the same way twice, always experimenting with new additions and flavors. Thankfully this recipe is VERY forgiving and always ends up tasting fantastic, no matter what! Enjoy.

Homemade Tortilla Strips: brush 8 corn tortillas lightly with oil and cut into 1/4 inch strips. Spread strips out on a baking sheet and season lightly with salt and any other spices you like. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes, tossing half way through. Watch them carefully because they can go from crispy to charred in a flash.

My friend hangs a cute bag at the bottom of her stairs to take things up in when she goes, and hangs one at the top as well, to take things down, so she doesn't just pile stuff up for everyone to see. I have a harder time doing it, because of the way my stairs are configured, but it works well for her.

I shine my black appliances with Windex after cleaning. Makes them look brand new every time.

Also, if I use pledge on my wood table and granite counter tops at least 2 times a week, it makes it so things don't stick as well, and they are easier to clean. White pledge is my favorite smell. It doesn't take long, but really makes things look (and smell) cleaner. I always think if the surfaces are shiny and clean, everything else looks cleaner.... Read More

Even when my floors aren't clean, if my neighbors walk in, and I have just polished my table and counter... they think I have been cleaning all day. :)

I wear a (cute) 1/2 apron that I made, with 3 large pockets. I put garbage bags, paper towels, cloths, iopd, phone, and lotion in it. I can do the garbage cans as I go, and not make a special trip. I also put 5 to 8 extra bags in the bottom of the garbage cans. The lotion helps me stay moisturized after using liquid cleaners, and then having to vacuum, or sweep. I don't like doing those things with dry hands. I can also pick up random things as I go, save them in the pockets, and put them in their place later. (Like a hair clip that is in the family room, but belongs in the bathroom.)

Also... best tip ever... have you ever cleaned a bathroom, top to bottom, and it still smells like urine? Take a disposable wipe when you are cleaning the toilet, and go around the base of the toilet where the toilet meets the floor, and the back of the toilet to the wall. You will be amazed at how dirty the wipe will be, and how much better the bathroom will smell. Mops can't always reach there.

Give them a bag (I use the reusable shopping ones cause they're easy to carry and just the right size), have them run around the house and pick up all their stuff and put it away before they can have story time.
